EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OPENING

College Careers Fund of Westchester, Inc. (College Careers) is seeking a hands-on Executive Director to manage and oversee staff, drive the full development and implementation of an enhanced strategic plan, the fund development, program delivery, documentation of outcomes and day-to-day operations at its office location in White Plains, New York.

A college degree is required; further studies and graduate degree in business, management, education and/or non-profit organizational development desired; experience with emphasis in educational preparedness, youth motivation and development, non-profit operations and business management; 2 to 5 years experience in non-profit grants and fund development highly desired; proposal writing, governmental or private grant compliance and documentation of outcomes experience strongly desired; familiarity with student development and motivational program experience for high school and college youth a plus; alumni resource development and engagement background a plus; marketing and public relations experience helpful; basic website maintenance skills and familiarity with social networking strategies and technology a plus; multi-lingual a plus. Good organizational skills necessary, with an entrepreneurial commitment to service the target population, to maximize availability of higher education to all students desirous of achieving success through education, and providing expanded services to students with other social challenges and the second-chance citizens seeking to be responsible, contributing citizens; a resource a students in the high school not traditionally served by the guidance counseling system, and a place for referral by other social service agencies to prepare, equip and place students in college to improve and take control of their lives. Must reside in or near Westchester County and the Greater New York are, be willing to commute or be willing to relocate at own expense. Salary is commensurate with experience. Merit bonuses can be earned based on achievement of goals and targeted results in fund development and enhanced services of the organization.

Responsibilities include hiring, training and development of staff and volunteers to meet the needs of the organization, a strong emphasis on fundraising and grant/donor development, interfacing with the Board of Directors and functioning committees, other community agencies and organizations, City, County and State youth bureaus and agencies, and educational institutions; oversight of customer communications, public relations and website maintenance, and driving strong alumni development and involvement; compliance with policies and regulations, and periodic reporting to the Board of Directors and regulatory authorities.
