Our Programs and Success Stories
The College Program |

The College Careers College Program serves more than 260 low income, primarily African-American and Hispanic high school students each year. Our one-on-one counseling, college admissions preparation, financial assistance, and mentoring helps these students jump the hurdles to entry into the State University of New York (SUNY) system, historically Black colleges and universities and other schools throughout the country. We provide on-going support from high school through college matriculation. The College Program provides counseling and financial support to help educationally and economically underprivileged youth attend and graduate from post seconday institutions. The College Program accounts for 75% of our efforts and resources. |
| College Careers also reaches out annually to over 1,200 teens and young adults through pre-college and life skills workshops that help get them on track with career and employment goals. These include the December Speak Out, in which students can exchange ideas and concerns, with each other and the counseling staff, and a chance to hear a speaker on an issue relevant to their daily lives. | |
